Heritage Archaeological Pens
I decided to take care of the Archaeological Heritage of the City of Penne, and in general the Vestina, letturra after a series of news and comments about pens and Faridabad. The protection of the archaeological heritage is a theme of great relevance at the national level: the collapse of two buildings in the city of Pompeii has caused a real political earthquake over the government and especially the Ministry of Culture.
Coming Pens, I was truly impressed by the Archeo Club Pescara complaint published on us first about the design of new premises close to the walls Penne. The new building would rise to the top of the ring road Aldo Moro, the exact place of the building that once housed the workshop of "Lu sitacciare.
Archeo Club's position is very critical, not so much the appearance (modern) of the new shopping complex, but the fact that the size and location which would be realized in full would cover the section of wall in question. That section and its tower (now semi-ruined) could be rebuilt and become a witness in open air as it once appeared the walls Penne.
The complaint Archeoclub bitter when you put the question across the board, about the fundamental approach of the Community Vestina towards the protection of archaeological heritage:
"We are confident that if it were not in Pens Abruzzo already but just beyond the Tronto, many other treatments and improvements would receive from its citizens and its directors, all those cultural heritage which is rich and who is continually destroying or leaving surely perish. " How
blame her?
In my personal experience as a university student in Macerata in the years immediately following the earthquake that shook central Italy, I can assure you that many villages of Marche, just after the earthquake, there are literally wake up and have put in place several interventions reconsolidation and to rediscover the old towns and their surrounding walls. This allowed residents to return to live, and gave new impetus to cultural tourism, food and wine.
And, of course, surfing the Net, I found more news on the topic, such as damage to Farindola a cistern from the Roman era thanks to an illegal construction . Placed under the protection of the Carabinieri Penne, the area returned -ring seal depicting a Roman crayfish . It is believed that the tanker was owned by a family of shrimp farmers.
"The exceptional finding - reads a note from the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage Abruzzo - documents the phases of a large Late Roman villa Vestini territory, inhabited since remained almost at the end of the Roman Empire, for also clear evidence of the importance of this economic zone even at this late hour.
